Our Elders

  • Christian was born and raised in West Bend.  He and his wife, and best friend, Melissa have three incredible sons (Ronan, Cole, and Dario).  Christian serves the Kettlebrook family by leading the music worship leaders across eight different teams at both the Jackson and West Bend site. Every now and then, he also gets to lead music worship on a Sunday!  Christian also gets to spend time with some of our youth teams as they are integrated into our Sunday teams.

Over the past couple of years, Christian sought to spend more time in God’s Word.  With a significant commute to his full-time job, he used the app, Through The Word. Each chapter includes a short commentary or devotional that he found really helpful, contextually.

As a lifelong “Bender,” it has been really important for him to be involved in serving the community. This has included serving on the Family Promise board for almost six years and as a basketball coach for the West Bend West Jr. Spartans program.

  • Nate Tobey serves as our Director of Administration and Gospel Advancement. After 25 years as a retail executive, Nate felt called by God to leave the corporate world and use his leadership and financial experience to serve the church. He is passionate about personal discipleship and excited to help our ministry grow through thoughtful planning and strategic support. Humbled by this opportunity, his desire is that through wise stewardship and strategic planning, the Gospel of Jesus would reach more people in our community.

Nate and his wife Katherine lead a small group and love investing in relationships. They have two children, Madelynn (17) and Caleb (12), who are active in Torch and Ignite youth ministries. Nate has a heart for mentoring men and loves seeing lives transformed by Jesus.

In addition to his role on staff, Nate serves as an elder and on the board of Reflejo, Inc., a mission agency focused on reaching the unreached. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

  • Becky and her husband Tyler, along with their girls Rachel, Abby, and Emma love being a part of the Kettlebrook family.  Over the years they have been blessed to be involved in small groups, Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, and MomCo.  One of their favorite things to do as a family is travelling, especially on road trips to National Parks, enjoying the incredible beauty and diversity of God’s creation.

Becky enjoys serving Kettlebrook in the details and finding ways to be creative and organized.  She also loves serving our international partners by being a part of the REACH Global Team, and highly recommends taking the Perspectives class to more deeply understand God’s heart for the world.

  • Renee and her husband Craig have been married since 2016 and have a daughter Kayla who brings lots of joy.  Renee was blessed to grow up in a loving Christian home right here in Wisconsin.  At an early age, she realized her need for forgiveness and put her faith in Jesus Christ.  In her teens, she began to struggle with the assurance of her salvation.  With the guidance and patience of her family and godly people around her, she came to realize that her faith rests in Jesus Christ alone - not in her own faith, but in HIM.

Renee considers it a privilege to serve the Kettlebrook family as a staff member.  Renee and Craig also enjoy serving the church family through their small group, triads, welcome team, and children’s ministry.

One of Renee’s joys is to sit with others over a cup of coffee and talk about Jesus, God’s Word, and God’s work in their lives.  Renee and Kayla have been encouraged and inspired by reading “Little Pilgrim’s Big Journey” which is an adaptation of John Bunyan’s “Pilgrim’s Progress.”

  • Kristi and her husband, Greg, have four grown sons and have been at Kettlebrook since the beginning. They serve in different capacities within the Kettlebrook faith family; together, they love any opportunity to provide hospitality because they see it as a beautiful glimpse of God’s invitation to relationship, grace and love.

Kristi’s understanding of faith in God has been a slow, steady growth in her life.  Most recently, Dane Ortlund’s books, Gentle and Lowly and Deeper have been growing her understanding of God’s character and Jesus’ heart. Through the podcast, Being Known, she’s learning how shame can be undone and healing can happen through a trusted connection that allows for deep vulnerability, both with God and other people. A favorite quote comes from Tim Keller, “To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God.”

Kristi desires to help others grow in faith and understand God’s unfailing love. Hearing other people’s stories over tea is one of her greatest joys. Her other joys include spending time with family and friends, playing board games, and creating bouquets for her home and to give away.
